Re-purposing Fresh Roses
Jaison always gets me a bouquet of roses for special occasions and I love the fragrance they give and the beauty they add to the room but unfortunately, it does not last for too long. Here are two ideas for re-purposing fresh roses.
One thing you can do while the roses are still fresh, is take one pf the flowers and take apart the rose, petal by petal and press them dry. You can press them dry under a heavy object such as one of those college textbooks you never used but still have lying around the house. After you press them dry for a week, you can take the petals to arrange them into a design, such as the lady in a red dress that I created in the pic below.
Another purpose for fresh roses is to wait until they dry and snip the flowers off the stems. Then take them and spray paint them a color of your choice. You can arrange them in a container with other things such as shells, pine cones, etc. You can also use essential oils or potpourri to make the elegant arrangement a fragrant addition to any room. I’ve included a picture below of the winter arrangement I made for one of our guest bedrooms.
